1.0 VISION OF THE ISLAMIC INPUT IN THE MEDICAL CURRICULUM (IIMC)

ˇ        Islamization

ˇ        Legal medicine, fiqh tibbi

 

2.0 FIVE OBJECTIVES OF IIMC

ˇ        Islamic paradigms and concepts in medicine, mafaahim islamiyyat

ˇ        Allah’s sign in the human body, ayaat al Allah fi al insan

ˇ        Legal aspects of disease and treatment, fiqh tibbi

ˇ        Social background to disease,

ˇ        Professional etiquette, adab al tabiib

 

3.0 OUTPUT OF IIMC: INTEGRATION

ˇ        The book of revelation, kitaab al wahy

ˇ        The book of empirical science, kitaab al kawn

ˇ        Both books contain signs of Allah, ayaat al llaah

ˇ        Joint reading of the 2 books, al jam ‘u baina al qira atain.

ˇ        Integration of the curriculum, the teacher, and the teaching material

ˇ        Integration of values, qiyam; ethics, akhlaq, law, shari’at in medicine

ˇ        Holistic medicine: balance, tawaazun; equilibrium, i’itidaal;

 

4.0 OUTPUT OF IIMC: EXCELLENCE, ihsaan

ˇ        Gradation in the 3 fundamentals: Islam then iman then ihsaan

ˇ        Ihsan is the culture of Islam

ˇ        Allah loves ihsan in everything

ˇ        Perfection required in every performance

ˇ        Excellent performance, itiqaan al ‘amal.

ˇ        Asaasiyyaat, fundamentals

ˇ        Fiqh al taarikh, history

ˇ        Fiqh al uluum al tibiyat, basic medical sciences

ˇ        Fiqh al tibaabat, clinical sciences

ˇ        Jama’at, the community (2 hours)

ˇ        Fiqh al qiyadat, leadership (2 hours)
